Velvet is best if you want the heaviest blackout, but you’re stuck with dry cleaning. Cotton with a blackout lining is the easier option; it blocks just as much light. Linen looks best during the day but can’t do the job alone at night. We bring all three so you can compare in your actual room.
More than people expect, honestly. Dubai buildings leak light everywhere. Street lamps, building lobbies, that 5 am sunrise nobody asked for. A blackout curtain keeps it all out until you’re ready to get up. Most of our clients say they felt the difference within a few nights.
Get both. That’s what the double-track setup is for. Blackout behind when you’re sleeping. Sheer in front when you want soft morning light without the glare. Choosing one over the other always means you’re giving something up.
They take the edge off. Heavy fabric absorbs a good chunk of traffic and neighbour noise. They Won’t soundproof the room, though. A building facing Sheikh Zayed Road at ground level is still going to hear trucks.
